"I think everything in life is art. What you do. How you dress. The way you love someone, and how you talk. Your smile and your personality. What you believe in, and all your dreams. The way you drink your tea. How you decorate your home. Or party. Your grocery list. The food you make. How your writing looks. And the way you feel. Life is art."

"I am afraid of getting older. I am afraid of getting married. Spare me from cooking three meals a day. Spare me the relentless cage of routine and rote. I want to be free… I want, I think, to be omniscient… I think I would like to call myself ‘The girl who wanted to be God.’"

"The one thing that you have that nobody else has is you. Your voice, your mind, your story, your vision. So write and draw and build and play and dance and live as only you can."

Anonymous: Hey Amanda!!! What would you suggest to do in your spare time? Love you and your blog! xx

Hi there! So many things. Bake a layer-cake with buttercream frosting and candied rose petals. Buy a new scrapbook and fill it to the brim with photos, magazine editorials, articles, dreams. Invite a few friends over to your place, brew some hot coffee and tea with lots of sugar, light loads of candles, and marathon some of the Harry Potter films. Write a letter to your future self and hide it in a secret place. Create a playlist of songs that make you feel something—be it nostalgic, sad, elated, dreamy…wear your headphones and lay on your bed, or wear them out for a walk. Go out for a spontaneous ice cream cone or a sundae. Take a late-night trip to a 24-hour diner for midnight French Toast. Pick a character you love (from literature, film, television, etc.) and BE that character for a day. Make homemade popsicles. Visit a museum. Have a yard sale. Take a bubble bath…
